Information Systems Technician
  • Assist personnel with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone.
  • Understanding of network infrastructure and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in MS Windows Server environments and MS Office applications
  • Understanding of information security policies and current security trends.
  • Coordinate and communicate with outside vendors an contractors on problems that arise on PCs associated with specific plants systems.
  • Understanding of IP phone systems.
  • Assist Information Systems Administrator in developing IT strategies and procedures to increase efficiency and enhance workflow.
  • Ability to stay current on technology, security and related issues.
  • Willingness to participate in necessary training courses.  Courses may be online, on disk or may require travel to attend in person.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Willingness to come in or stay after hours if necessary.
  • Good physical condition.  Job will require considerable walking to cover all areas of the Power Station.  Job will require some lifting and carrying of equipment.
  • Must be able to use or learn AutoCAD software.
  • Bachelors or Technical Degree in Information Systems preferred or equivalent.

Electrical Engineer – Substation Supervisor
The Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a background in field maintenance work, including directing maintenance employees. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for the planning and coordination of system maintenance, including renewals and replacements.

Candidate will assist and work with other distribution system managers. This person will supervise Distribution system employees who are members of local IBEW union. Candidate will plan and schedule maintenance to equipment and write/approve and execute utility procedures to lock-out and tag-out equipment to be maintained safely. This person will write the scope of work specifications for outside contractors to bid on installations and maintenance that can't be performed by internal resources.

Candidate should be familiar with requirements to install and maintain transformers, vacuum circuit breakers, gas circuit breakers, relays, reclosers, switches, and fuses. Candidate should be familiar with insulation tests; i.e. Doble power factor and Megger, insulating oil tests and be able to interpret tests such as transformer turns ration, ductor tests, and partial discharge analysis. This person will respond to trouble calls 24 hrs/day, providing urgent restore service direction to distribution system employees and reporting status to company management.
