The Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities is seeking an applicant to fill a lineman position with the following experience and abilities:

Construction, removal, maintenance of overhead and underground distribution and transmission lines and secondary service. 

Must have dexterous use of both hands and must be able to work outdoors in wet and cold (below freezing) weather.  Must not fear heights.  Must be able to climb poles, ladders and requires good, corrected vision, hearing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and lifting.  Must be able to operate all equipment and vehicles used in the electrical distribution department.  Must implement and maintain good safety practices.  Required to have working knowledge of the electrical transmission and distribution system and the City of Sikeston.  Must possess good verbal communication skills.  Must possess a degree of job skills and certification to match duty requirements.  Also, must be able to use all tools and instruments required for the job functions. Take turns rotating standby and must be willing to respond to emergency power outages.
